The Perfect Formula for Styling and Stocking a Fall Bar Cart
Over the past few years, bar carts have made a major comeback as a design element, and it’s safe to say they are here to stay.
Along with being a statement piece in any home, bar carts are versatile and can be easily and affordably updated to fit any season. If you're unsure where to start, we've created the perfect formula for styling your bar cart for the fall season:
Set the Mood
Similar to decorating a room in your home, the first step in styling the perfect bar cart is to get inspired. and create a vision. We suggest using Pinterest to look up inspiration and curate a mood board for what you would like your merriment cart to mimic before heading out to scoop up your supplies. There is a lot of great inspiration out there. Here are a few pins we're loving right now. You can go with the classic cart or opt for a bourbon lover’s cart. Consider accenting with a touch of wheat here or some gold deer. The possibilities abound, so pick a style and start designing!
#FlashesofDelight
When it comes to buying the bar cart revelry, glassware and other necessities, keep your eyes peeled for pretty things. You don't necessarily have to do plaid and pumpkins to get a fall-inspired cart. You can achieve the same spirit of the season through your color palette, like incorporating hues of golds, oranges and browns. The colors on your cart can come from foliage, decor, glassware, garnishes and even the spirits themselves!
Tip, you can find a lot of great decanters, snifters and holiday decor at your local thrift store and no one's the wiser!
As for the booze itself, looking up a local distillery can often add another layer of luxe, and you'll be supporting small local businesses in the process! For our cart, we like gold-rimmed tumblers, Turkish glassware, a feather arrangement, fresh herbs and cinnamon sticks that look good (and taste good, too!).
Finding Functionality
Like styling any space, planning a stellar cart means thinking about functionality. After all, this is not just a fab display, it needs to be functional for those happy hours at home, Friday night flirts and evenings with friends.
Another tip for stocking a bar cart right is narrowing in on a few signature or seasonal cocktails that you'd like to serve.
This allows you to fully conceptualize out of this world cocktails while limiting the bulk and clutter on the cart. The seasonal concept also limits the accessories needed, especially if your drinks all require the same general ingredients, shaking, mixing, etc. Here are a few of our favorite fantastic fall drink recipes for this season: Smoky Harvest Apple Cider Margaritas, the unique New Black Velvet and The Sleepy Hollow.
